Vicenza Opera Festival

The Vicenza Opera Festival, conceived by the renowned conductor Iván Fischer, offers a unique and fascinating operatic experience. The Festival's goal is to bring opera back to its purest origins, focusing on the perfect balance between music and acting, without scenic distractions. It is a way to rediscover the true essence of operatic masterpieces, highlighting the emotional intensity and the artists' skill. Each performance is designed to be a prestigious alternative to more conventional international opera productions.

The stage for this magic is the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, an architectural masterpiece by Andrea Palladio completed around 1600. The theatre's imposing and illusionary fixed set design — a historical treasure — becomes the constant visual element, almost a co-star. This unique feature dictates that the audience's entire focus must be on the musical and dramatic interpretation. Attending an opera like "The Magic Flute" in this setting, where Palladio's art meets Mozart's sublime music, is not just a show, but a journey through time and an unforgettable experience for every enthusiast.

The Vicenza Opera Festival is an excellent opportunity to discover the city of Vicenza, with its marvellous Palladian Villas and monuments, as well as neighbouring cities such as Verona, Padua, and Venice.
