From February 3 to 28, 2027, La Scala in Milan will host one of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's greatest masterpieces: Don Giovanni. These performances mark the return of Thomas Guggeis, the young and talented General Music Director of the Frankfurt Opera. He will conduct the famous production directed by Robert Carsen, originally created for the theater's season opening on December 7, 2011.
This production offers a fascinating look into the theater's tradition. Carsen's staging explores the delicate balance between reason and seduction. The set features a spectacular mirror that reflects the audience at the beginning of the show, along with side scenes that recreate La Scala's elegant architecture. This modern approach focuses on the raw psychological truth of the characters, giving the ultimate libertine the final word in a highly relevant story....
